This phase of development generally begins at approximately 10 and goes until 17/18 of age.
Many things change at this stage of development; both internally and externally. Puberty is a period of transition. It often feels like a period filled with energetic waves and feeling overwhelmed by them. Life becomes complex.
The physical changes become visible and the psychological transformation is also immense.
In this period, there are often other forms of confrontation than in previous years (childhood).
Puberty is sexual maturity, which takes place inside the body. It is looked at from a different, more corporeal point of view, be it boys and girls of the same sex or even the opposite sex.
In this time of re-discovery and demarcation of family of origin is no longer enough. A new circle of friends develops that does not always correspond to the parents' circle of friends. Young people are often ashamed of their parents at this time since they still feel identified with the family.
Young people explore themselves by rooting themselves from the outside, and that's where doubts begin: Am I different from my mother? And different from my father?
